This year (2005) Liverpool hosted the start of the Clipper 05-06 round the world yacht race. Ten boats all sponsored by cities around the world entered and they will race around the world to end up in Liverpool again in July 2006. We joined 60 other boats from Liverpool to make a flotilla on the river for the start send off. As I write this, Liverpool seem to be leading by a few minutes, the next stop is Portugal, then Brazil.
